Rockedrømmen (2025): Kjell Moberg’s Calidris hardback (638pp, Bokmål, ISBN 9788284672939). Official OPR companion, 22 chapters with video. Retail: ARK, Bokklubben.

First and foremost, Rockedrømmen is a book: a hardback, richly illustrated edition (638 pages) published by Calidris in autumn 2025. The story follows Kjell from his boyhood dream all the way to a concert in front of tens of thousands in Beijing, and it draws on his real life in bands, DIY scenes, and touring, not fiction.

This website is a companion to the book: the same 22 chapters, each with a video layer you can open while reading (or when you just want to travel chronologically through the clips).

These links document the Rockedrømmen, Kjell, China, and broader rock archive in chronological order.

  1. 01 A little boy in love with music It started on Grandfather’s old turntable, with Neil Diamond, Wenche Myhre and Dizzie Tunes, and me banging my head against the wall in time. Elvis, the Beatles and the Stones filled the house, and my uncle handed me the harder stuff (Thin Lizzy, the Sex Pistols), which I stole from the cellar stairs while he and his mates loaded up for the weekend, bottles clinking and the music loud and good. A neighbour’s Bob Marley put a reggae beat in my blood that’s still there. And the dream was never small. Not just to be Elvis, but world domination from the stage: a rock’n’roll free-fall with no brakes, from here to eternity and back. Rock never felt like work the way school did. Music kindergarten and the local corps? They never took. 9 videos Read
