Kikki joined Punishment Park in 1993 and brought her own lyrics to the songs we had been writing. With Blendwerk taking shape and the band settling into a quartet, we prepared for another European tour through the network we had begun to build.
We began 1993 without a permanent vocalist and used the time to write and arrange new material. A notice at Garage eventually brought Kikki to rehearsal. She arrived prepared and fitted the band straight away. She also wanted to write her own lyrics, which gave the unfinished songs a new direction.
We started recording Blendwerk at Sigma Studio with Yngve L. Sætre in the summer of 1993. Sveini left during the sessions, and we eventually decided to carry on as a quartet. The following year we put together a twenty-seven-show European tour through friends in Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Germany. This time we had a bus and a driver. Our first album also appeared on vinyl through Harmony Records, while tapes carried the music further through the same network.
