Rockedrømmen Chapter 16
Os Rock Club
An English retelling from Kjell Moberg's manuscript.
Os Rock Klubb was my first rock home. It gave us a place to rehearse, organise concerts and learn from each other, long before I took those lessons out on tour with my own bands.
I first came around Os Rock Klubb as a ten-year-old, watching older guitar players and imagining a future onstage. The club began around 1980, first in the Os Turnforening clubhouse and later in a former Televerket building near the fire station. We had rehearsal rooms, a studio and a small concert room: rough, self-run and exactly the place we needed.
The musicians took responsibility. We kept rehearsal times, raised money, shared equipment and learned to handle electricity, concerts, sound, security and authorities. Os Rock gave local bands large audiences alongside visiting acts, while Old Funeral connected the club to the emerging metal scene. Activity rose and fell, but the club remained my creative school, social anchor and practical education over many years.
