Rockedrømmen Chapter 13
A new millennium on the doorstep
An English retelling from Kjell Moberg's manuscript.
Pez, Katy and I carried on as JEF, a trio with one foot in punk and the other in noisier indie rock. New records and tours took us back into Europe, where a conversation with friends also planted the seed of K-Jell.
Pez, Katy and I had decided to keep playing together as Punishment Park came to an end. Our new project got its name, JEF, backstage at Garage on 30 September 2000. Pez played drums, Katy played bass and sang, and I played guitar. We wanted to write, record and tour, using what we had learned in earlier bands to get moving quickly.
We released two small vinyl EPs, a free CD, and the locally made Xenophobia video before touring Germany with Lame Ducks in 2002. In 2003 we toured Denmark, Poland, and Germany with McDolly and Goldenboy. The shows ranged from cramped improvised rooms to established clubs, and conversations with BT and Jostein began the idea that eventually became my K-Jell solo project.
